St. Simons Island Trip

The last week of June, Elizabeth, Charlie, and I went to St. Simons Island with YaYa and Poppy.  We had a great time!

We stopped in Dublin for one night on the way over, and Elizabeth helped Shep take a walk through the Farmers Market.

Then she checked out the tomatoes and squash growing in the garden.

She LOVES her bed at their house.  This trip, she even let Charlie lie down with her!

When we got to St. Simons Island, her favorite thing to do was play on the playground.

YaYa was a great playmate!

And the big, old oak trees were perfect for "climbing."

She had so much fun that we had to take Poppy back the next day!

Thanks for letting us tag along!

*More pics to come when I get a new charger for the phone...left mine in the hotel. :-(

Fun on the Lake

Elizabeth, Charlie, and I have really been enjoying our summer.  We have taken several trips to Mimi and Pop-Pop's house on Lake Martin, and Elizabeth has gone from being scared to death of the water to LOVING it!

At first she just played in the sand with her buddies Poppy and Shep.

Then she let Daddy take her into the water.

She even let him put her down in it!

After our July 4th trip to the lake, she won't even stop on her way in!

Back again!

So I'm clearly not good at updating this.  Since the last post two years ago, the Aaron family has continued to change and grow.  God has been so good to us!

For starters, I just finished my second year as 10th-grade English teacher at Charles Henderson High School in Troy. I love working in the same town where I live, and my colleagues are so supportive.  It has been a blessing in so many ways!  My students are motivated, creative, and able, and parents are supportive and appreciative.  I have also been able to reinstate the CHHS Key Club and its service initiatives around the Troy community.  Go Trojans!

Oliver is still the Director of IMPACT and Special Projects at Troy University, so he is working hard all summer long.  He is so good at his job, and I am so proud to call him my husband!  After recruiting students all through the school year, he finally gets to see that diligence come to fruition when they come to Troy to register for classes and be oriented to campus life.  Oliver is an organized, responsible, and caring leader, and Troy is lucky to have him!

Elizabeth turned two on May 19, and she is such a big girl. Her laughs are contagious, her curiosity insatiable, and her kind spirit undeniable.  She is a great helper, a loving friend, and a great cuddle-buddy!  She just finished her first year at Mother's Day Out at First Baptist in Troy, and we have all loved Miss Mary and the love and education she receives while in their care.

The biggest recent change is that we have added another family member!  Charles Davis "Charlie" Aaron made his debut on May 4, and the last seven weeks have been exciting!  Elizabeth loves her baby brother, and Charlie is beginning to show us his personality.  He is definitely a snuggler like his sister and mommy!

I am so thankful for the time I get to share with my precious angels!

We're back--and we've doubled!

It's been a looooong time since we've posted anything here, but I'm going to try to be more diligent now. Since the last post, Oliver and I have celebrated our first wedding anniversary, bought and renovated a house, gotten a dog, and had a baby. (Whew! That's a lot of big stuff in a year and a half!)

While I'll try to put up pictures of everything soon, the biggest and most exciting thing going on in the Aaron family is the addition of our precious angel, Elizabeth Anne. Elizabeth was born on May 19, and she is the sweetest, most adorable little girl ever!

A Christmas Carol

Oliver and I recently went to the Alabama Shakespeare Festival in Montgomery to see A Christmas Carol, the musical. It was a little treat to go with our friends Ryan and Amy before things got really crazy with office Christmas parties, semester exams, making big purchases, and wrapping presents. I always enjoy our trips to see the performances there, and this time was no exception. The red, gold, and green of Christmas made the scenery even more beautiful, and the performance was thrilling, as usual.
Now Oliver is preparing to go to New Orleans to support the Trojans, and we're both trying to figure out how to spend this Christmas--our first as a married couple! Since both our families are in Dadeville, we thought it would be easy; but this year everybody decided to have their Christmas dinners at the same time, which makes it really difficult on our tummies!

Welcome to our blog!

Welcome to the Aaron family blog!

We have both been followers of other blogs for some time, and a few weeks ago we decided it was time to create our own. So here we are!
